Great Value and great quality Jarred - Redlands, CA (Monday, March 08, 2010) It took me awhile to decide on what size I needed from reading all of the reviews on various other websites. ultimately, settling with a size 10Wide Now I'm 10,1/2' for my size foot and this boot was roughly 1/2 size bigger if not more. That being said, these particular boots only come in full sizes that are one size big than what's stated. Now that's a good thing because you need the extra room for your foot to use extra insoles and or padding(s) coupled with semi-thick long socks. So if you're a size 9,1/2' then get a 9 if you're a size 10 exact, then get a 10Wide and so on. I would strongly recommend that you get a combo of Arch Support pads and cushion insoles foam or gel would work (I used foam insoles and a gel arch works great). Definitely look for some Arch supports first being as that the denseness/height of the heel makes running/walking a bit uncomfortable. Also your toes need some padding as well the inside front of the boot can be rigorous on your toes from simply walking ex. your foot slides back & forth inside the boot and the toes roll at the tip inside of the boot...consequently, causing blistering and or callousing, broken nails, etc. Also some athletic socks that are both breathable and padded well would seal the deal. Definitely aim for something that'll keep your feet dry and comfortable. Basically you'll be wearing these boots for an extended period of time whether it's work or otherwise, and let's face it, you don't want to deal with taking the boots off and putting them back on when you're busy right? When looking for the padding insoles and socks to complement your boots at the store, keep the 'comfort' mindset on. Other than the suggestions listed above I'll go into the review. At about $25 and whatever shipping was, these boots are practically a steal. Both quality and aesthetics are integrated in at such a low price tag. This is my first pair of boots but I must say that I'm impressed with what I ended up with. Easy lacing and fit pretty well (getting pads and good socks first of course). The upper portion of the boots could have used a little padding or stuffing but what can I say, that's what long socks are for right? I look forward to buying more of these boots in the near future and they're definitely worth the value no doubt about that. In conclusion, this is a highly recommended piece of footwear |
